DAY 9 – The Pathway Home
9 ELUL 5769
In our Western world, we are rushed, stressed, and activity driven. For some, even the weekend does not provide a relief. It is a time to get other things done: housework, family outings, sporting events, and religious activities, etc. AND if you are a leader in your congregation, there’s even more work to be done.
In our Christian arenas, we have been taught that “we are not under the law” and therefore we don’t have to observe Shabbat. Unfortunately, we did not learn that our soul would need a place of rest, not just our physical body. As a PK (preacher’s kid), pastor’s wife and ministry leader, I know that the requirements of leadership and ministry can be very demanding.
Several years ago, I was properly introduced to the Beauty of Shabbat – the Island in Time. Shabbat offered my soul a weekly pathway home, to the Heart of God, to those things that matter most.
